Great-great-great-granddaughter of a Civil War Veteran in the Union Army. This is a historical blog of the Civil War. From the fall of Fort Sumter in 1861 to the surrender at Appomattox Couthouse in 1865, every battle with stops along the way. Your welcome to stay for a bit and reminisce. We begin in the year 1861... Special thanks to my distant cousins Bonnie Fletcher Eggert and Glen Fletcher for the many, many photos you see posted here. Bless your hearts for remembering our relatives!

Have you ever been to the civil war re-enactment at the circle K apple orchard in the fall? It happens every year at their apple festival. I have been to it several times and always find it to be a powerful experience. Some years they bring a real cannon along and shoot it (as a demonstration, of course- not a part of the re-enactment!!)
